USAF active duty 1968 to 1972. Honorably discharged as Staff Sergeant (E-5) as an Illustrator. Served on Security Augmentation Force while stationed at Tinker AFB (1968-1969), then as a member of Commander's Battle Staff (1969-1972).

Past Commander (2001-2004), AMVETS NE Post #2, in Omaha NE. Continue to serve as a Post Trustee, Chair of Student Contests, Newsletter Editor, and Sons of AMVETS Coordinator. Beginning in the 2002-2003 Command Year, our little Post has earned National Quality Post recognition for each of the 4 years it has been awarded ... 1 of 6 AMVETS Posts in the country to achieve this.
